Tricks of the Trade(show): Why Exhibit?

While we specialize in online marketing here at Commercial Web Services, and obviously spend a significant portion of our blog discussing this topic, today we want to expand our discussion to include face-to-face marketing, namely, trade show marketing. Though what we do in the online marketing space is increasingly important, it will never hold a candle to the power of in-person interaction, and actually, we don’t want to. We just want to help you get quality leads so that you can make the personal connection with them.

So why are trade shows so valuable? While we could give 101 reasons for why you should exhibit at an industry trade show, we’ll keep it brief with our top 5.

Top 5 Reasons to Exhibit at an Industry Tradeshow

Gain additional exposure. There are certainly those who don’t know your company exists and what better way to introduce them to your business than at an industry-specific event like this.

Build relationships with people who are in the market to buy. Making these personal connections, as we said before, is what it’s all about, so put your best foot forward at these events. After all, they are fundamentally created to bring buyers and sellers together in the same room.

Cross-sell your current customers. It’s likely you’ll have a few current customers you bump into at these events, so make sure you connect with them, too, and let them know what’s new and exciting about your business.

Learn what’s new in the marketplace. What better place for dealers to connect with manufacturers and find out what’s new and exciting in the equipment, ag, and trucking spaces.

See what your competition is doing right, and wrong. It’s always a good idea to be in the know about your competition’s happenings. Make note of what they do well at tradeshows and not so well to keep your business cutting edge.

Hopefully, we’ve convinced you that your business should consider exhibiting at a tradeshow in the upcoming season. We know there is a high cost, both in time and resources, however, if you plan right, the opportunities are endless. Remember, you’ll have to commit to these events early in order to plan everything well. Next week we’ll dive further into the planning aspects as well as actually exhibiting and how to make the most out of the experience, so stay tuned!
