Employee Spotlight: Somer Gregory

We’re using this month’s Employee Spotlight to introduce you to Somer Gregory! Somer is one of our Client Advocate Managers who works closely with each of our dealers to ensure they are utilizing our products and services to their utmost potential! Let’s hear about her experiences.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a local gal; born and raised in Hampton Roads, I graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Professional Communication. My husband (Josh) is a chef in Norfolk and we live in Virginia Beach with our two dogs, Apollo (12) and Leonidas (10). When I’m not at work, I enjoy learning new things—anything. For example, after a couple of pipes broke at my house, I learned how to diagnose and repair minor plumbing issues. Right now, I’m brushing up on my Spanish speaking skills and then I’m moving on to learning French. Anything to keep my mind moving!

How long have you been at CWS and what is your current role?

I joined CWS in August of 2015. I joined the team as one of the original three Client Advocate Managers (CAM). Today, I remain in my role as a CAM, although recently, I’ve taken a little more of a leadership role by training and coaching new team members.

What is one piece of advice you want your dealers to know?

The best piece of advice that I can offer is this: the website is a living, breathing entity. It isn’t intended to be a “set it and forget it” type of deal. The best, most productive or high performing websites are ones in which the dealers treat the website as if it’s an additional location. If a business has one brick and mortar store and website, that business effectively has two locations. The website should be updated seasonally at minimum. I find myself reminding dealers often, “If you wouldn’t do it in your store, do not do it on the website” and that pertains to anything – stale inventory, outdated or expired promotions, you name it. The website is a virtual representation of the business they’ve worked so hard to build. Take pride in it, and let us help you!

What has been your greatest accomplishment at CWS so far?

The relationships I’ve built with our clients is definitely what I consider to be my greatest accomplishment. The fact that some of our dealers trust me to the extent that they will call me for input when they face business decisions speaks volumes to how much our clients value what we bring to the partnership.

What is your favorite thing about working at CWS?

There are two things that I absolutely love about working at CWS: First is our team. The individuals in our group come from such diverse professional backgrounds, yet we’re all able to work as a cohesive unit, applying all kinds of skills and talents to get the job done—whatever the job may be! The second thing that I love about working at CWS is that even after doing this job for a couple of years, I still learn new things all the time. There is never a dull moment around here, and I love that!

We are fortunate to have such dedicated and knowledgeable employees like Somer! Thank you, Somer, for all you do for not only our clients, but also our team! Your willingness to go above and beyond for everyone you encounter is truly admirable and appreciated. We can’t wait to see what else you accomplish at CWS!
