Celebrating 10 Years!

This year, Commercial Web Services is celebrating 10 years as a business. Over the next three weeks, you will be introduced to three individuals who have been here since the beginning! Thank you to all of our customers. We look forward to the next 10 years.

Diana RichardsonMeet Diana Richardson, who is our Search Services Supervisor. Diana has been apart of Commercial Web Services for 10 years. To learn more about her experience and what she has learned over the past 10 years, read below.

What brought you to Commercial Web Services and how has your position evolved?

What brought me to CWS was an ad in the actual paper for a Marketing Specialist. When I got to the interview, Julie (my boss to this day), slid one of the monthly dealer reports in front of me and said, “This is what we actually do.” She went on to explain what SEO and Pay-Per-Click were. She explained the monthly reports and the different clientele she worked with. I remember thinking, “This sounds like fun,” and I’ve been with Dominion, CWS and Julie ever since continuing to do SEO and PPC. I started out as a Search Services Specialist. We take on new clients and figure out the best strategy for optimizing their website and/or PPC campaigns in order to enhance their presence within the Search Engines. It’s evolved in many ways. It’s evolved as our clients’ needs have changed. It’s evolved as the business has changed. And it’s evolved as the Search Engines changed. I could probably write a few pages about all the changes we’ve been through during the last 10 years. For me personally, the biggest evolution for my position was being promoted to a new position, the Search Services Supervisor. Now I’m able to not only work with clients but be involved with the business in a much more in depth way – it’s great!

When you look back over the last 10 years at CWS, how have we grown?

Again, I could probably write pages about the growth of this business. We began as a start up within Dominion Enterprises. It was hard in the beginning getting the word out about us and what we do. The online world was a much different place especially in this industry back then. We would mention other sister businesses in order to ring a familiar bell in the minds of potential customers. But using the CWS driven mentality, we pushed and continued day after day. We developed strong dealer relationships as well as partnerships with OEMs and the momentum took off. We are finally at the point where dealers know who we are without mentioning other sister businesses. We clearly stand on our own two feet with that CWS drive and perseverance as the foundation we stand on. We are at the point now where we are able to develop new products and try new strategies in order to continue to enhance the clients’ experience with us as well as our services.

What has been your biggest accomplishment at CWS thus far?

Definitely being promoted to Search Services Supervisor. The trust and confidence from management that I am able to lead a team and help develop our business is one of the most significant compliments I’ve ever received. Having been involved with CWS since the beginning I have such a personal attachment to this business and now I get to be involved with it in a deeper manner. I take immense pride in that.

What are you looking forward to in the future at CWS?

All of it! Wherever we go next! We are continuing to pursue new tactics, strategies, products, etc which makes this such a vibrant place to work so I look forward to it all.

What about CWS has made it “home” the last 10 years?

My cubicle is my home – no I’m just kidding!! It’s absolutely the people. I work with a strong, hilarious and a wonderfully smart team of SEOs that make every day a joy to come to work. The CWS team as a whole is comprised of warm people who are there to put a smile on your face when you’re down and there to give you a kick when you need a little push. There is such an charismatic and unique work dynamic that occurs here in the office that everyone comments on and I hope the dealers feel it too.
